@InspectorCaracal @neudre also the tech problem of facilitating long-range communications but primarily what you said, yes
@freakazoid @neudre oh yeah, I was bundling the two together
@neudre @InspectorCaracal I'm certainly imagining that
Doing it as well actually by calling out a project that's untrustworthy and, even if it were trustworthy, entirely missing the point by trying to build a technological solution to a social problem
I hope we of the fediverse have been helpful to you in determining that that's what we do here
@freakazoid I consider that as part of 3) but yeah, that's going to be a massive issue
brexit
@Anarkat yep
if it was a literal rubber stamp that put it into effect the brexiteers would proclaim the inanimate stamp a traitor and say it should have chosen not to function at that moment
brexit
@BalooUriza then again "giant shitshow that would irrevocably change a whole load of things and generally go very badly indeed for everyone involved" is kinda where we are at the moment so *shrug*
brexit
@BalooUriza well, she could technically have stopped it in the same way that technically the UK can annex Normandy
could happen, but it would very quickly result in a giant shitshow that would irrevocably change a whole load of things and generally go very badly indeed for everyone involved

@halcy fucking hell
@halcy while that defence has worked in the past yeah, it's unlikely to help in most cases
@halcy wait, they're literally asking if it's legal!?
OF COURSE IT BLOODY ISN'T
@halcy I mean, technically they can, they just have to face the obvious consequences afterwards
watch nerdery
I can see why they've done that with them moving it to the Seiko 5 line but still, bit disappointing
It seems to use mostly the same external parts though, same midcase, bezel looks the same, so hopefully existing aftermarket parts will work with the new model and there's the possibility that aftermarket solid casebacks could bump the WR back up to 200m
(3/3)
watch nerdery
It's got the same dimensions and overall shape but it's had a fair few changes, the movement is now a 4R36 which is a very nice improvement over the 7S26, it now comes with a display caseback, but the water resistance has now dropped to 100m and it's probably going to lose the ISO rating which utterly sucks
(I lied, 2/3)
watch nerdery
According to everything I can find Seiko have discontinued the SKX007, possibly the best dive watch in the <$250 range and a beloved favourite of watch enthusiasts everywhere
So we were all wondering what the replacement would be, and there's a leak that looks legit
