more games should totally rip off Marathon's art style though, because while it feels dystopian, it at least it has some goddamn colors

Show thread

Decided to check out Marathon before that free trial ends.

In my tutorial run, I got downed by a UESC soldier, yet still hobbled to an exfil area I activated beforehand.

Otherwise, yep, that's an extraction shooter alright, a genre I want to like but find too frustrating to play

found out Mina the Hollower has music by Jake Kaufman and I practically went "the guy who did the soundtrack for the Game Boy Color port of Who Wants to be a Millionaire 2nd Edition???"

I know he's done stuff I'm more familiar with but that's the one that immediately came to mind

Today's episode of Jeopardy

I love when a Jeopardy player in third place make a proper wager in Final that gets them the win on a triple stumper. And today he beat a six-day champion!

Not enough players learn proper wagering strategy. It's important!

really annoying to see one of my favorite channels that posts rare game shows decide now to post videos of their AI slop renditions of game show themes

I am here for you posting episodes of forgotten 70s game shows, not your shitty AI version of the Wheel of Fortune theme!

these are not good arrangements! stop it!!!

@Joshi I mean, yeah

I was just thinking that cards against humanity is no longer popular and I'm gonna start seeing used copies flood thrift stores en masse

while thrifting with my partner, I discovered some cool things, including DEV2.O, that Devo album but made for kids; Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for the Wii, and an album that's has both Blues music and nature sounds.

the world has a lot of wild stuff in it, lemme tell ya

lord help me I am getting interested in RetroAchievements

I'm not really big on dungeon crawler RPG types, but Doom RPG was a surprisingly good one

Glad that PC port exists now.

watching The Price is Right april fools episode with Craig Ferguson guest hosting

feels weird to watch after years of watching DaThings' The Price Is Rice series and having that burned into my memory

New Secret Area post: It's Medal of Honor: Airborne.

EA, unsure where to take the Medal of Honor franchise, opts to make it go a bit weird and silly.

Shares and comments appreciated, as always: asecretarea.com/2026/05/28/med

With new gaming hardware getting more expensive by the day, it's finally time to start making games again for the hardware everyone already owns. That's right, the sun rises once more for the Nintendo DS

being distracted by my own boobs that I trip and fall has resulted in a torn rotator cuff, as I found out at the doctor yesterday

curse these blessed things.

New Patreon post: It's Medal of Honor: Airborne.

One of the last WWII era Medal of Honor games, and it decides to get goofy (in a good way!)

Available now for $1 or more patrons: patreon.com/posts/medal-of-hon

got a new heating pad today

the box it came in uses comic sans as a font

it's funny

@mavica_again yeah, I honestly thought he would've gotten to the point where he'd pass, do the Bart vs the Space Mutants thing, and do a different game

but I guess he's dedicated!

I think I'm at the stage now where I'm not watching Giant Bomb's Blight Club until I see "Space Ace | FINALE | Blightning Round"

It's basically become This Is The Run and I'm not really a fan of that series
