@Cahatstrophe @Mikie1600 @pokemon @fediplayspokemon Oh yeah, we don't even get a fishing rod until after we beat the first gym. We can pick up the Old Rod in the Pokémon Center outside Union Cave. If we immediately use the Old Rod when we get it, and we might encounter a Poliwag.

Ah, you're right. New Bark Town's map has water on its eastern border, so you can't even get into any encounters without the Surf HM. I forget if Gold and Silver have any encounter table shenanigans that let us get into a wild Pokémon encounter here.
@Mikie1600 @Cahatstrophe @pokemon @fediplayspokemon Actually, if we go right from the starting town, is it possible to encounter any mid-level water Pokémon early? I don't know what the speedrun community thinks about that.

Today separates the noobs from the pros. I saw the trap coming after three turns and I was powerless to avoid it. Even abusing my research and my tier list to the max the whole time, it still came down to a 50/50 crapshoot to keep my streak alive.

I could say we already went to the house up here a month ago, but most people wouldn't see that. At this point, it's faster to go there again and show that there's nothing to do there. Maybe they'll let us go back and talk to Professor Elm so we can advance the plot and get Poke Balls.

We backtracked all the way back to the lab but we forgot to actually talk to Professor Elm! We're stuck until we backtrack and talk to Professor Elm! Oh man, we've got to get a better way to talk strategy among ourselves.

Yeah, you're right. I was hoping to knock out a trainer battle, but we can't go any farther until we bring the egg to Professor Elm.

@tom @pokemon I looked at your source code and I've got a better idea: make the poll only include buttons actually make something happen.
In bot.py's def run(self): between the media =... and post =... statements:

I like that GIF, but it skipped most of the Pokemon Center healing animation. We can see we only entered the Poke Mart once, found out they don't carry anything useful, and stopped.
Time to exit the shop, take a few steps left, and go north through Route 30. We can get some berries and a potion on the way to Mr. Pokemon's house.

I’m OK! I’m mostly on Kbin and Lemmy and a little Mastodon and Discord. They’re like if Reddit or Twitter were general Internet services like email and not getting ruined by a dumb CEO. I don’t use other platforms much unless I’m checking on someone who only uses one platform.
Today's my birthday and people are visiting my old profiles today, so this post is for them. Family and work are keeping me plenty busy and I haven’t been keeping up with everybody else like I should.
